Urban Fashion Fantasy Meets the West

New York girl gone Texas. "Not overly Western, but sort of this urban fantasy of Western life.” Designer Carly Cushnie explained backstage.  "Like the movie City Slickers, this is  our urban fantasy of what it would be like..."

"This is basically what we would want in our suitcases were we taking a trip to Texas,"  Cushnie said after the show. She and Michelle Ochs had a specific vision for their upcoming 2014 Collection.

"We consider this our fantasy packing list for Texas," Michelle adds. "We will definitely go to Texas just to wear this.

The designers featured many looks with classic black cowboy hats in their show, but other designers are continuing the trend.  Tracy Reese got in on the Western-inspired look with fringed, handkerchief-inspired shawls. "I'm just feelin' the fringe this season," Reese said after her show.

Charlotte Ronson, featured cartoon-like, oversize cowboy hats with several of her looks, while Tibi also got in on the wide-brimmed hat trend in a major way. Plenty of Western inspirations were included by creative director Stuart Vevers with the addition of fringed bags.

Sierra Western Wear has their own versions of what inspired many Designers this season. But ours are the real deal! Like this Montana West Bag and the Rock & Roll Cowgirl Braided Trim & Slashes & Fringe Vest.

It All Comes Back Around

Yes, it’s true, what goes around comes around; and nowhere is that more true than in  Fashion trends.A while back  Boho brought in cowboy boots with it, sweeping across most genres and styles; and then receded almost as quickly. But last season, floral embroidery and Western inspired boots gave us a hint that the look was quietly promising to reappear. This year, more than a mere inkling, cowgirl style has evolved into something else entirely.

While it will continue to evolve, real Cowgirls want to be able to find authentic Western Wear for the lifestyle they have always lived. They can do that at Sierra Western Wear.

Suede and Leather accents, colorful fringed ponchos, arrow and Aztec inspired dresses and tops; Sierra Western Wear is bringing you the best of authentic Western Wear with all the high fashion earmarks put on display for the pseudo cowgirls roaming the concrete city ranges, just wishing they were in your boots! And your boots could be these Macie Bean Beauties!

The intricate floral designs found on these and other current boot offerings, (chek out out Pecos Bill and Ferrini’s, too) are being incorporated into the likes of Tommy Hilfiger’s arrow laden shirt dress and an intricate floral detail designs!

Chanel, always at the forefront, kicked off the newest Western trend with an incredible Western show for their Metiers d'Art collection in Dallas in December. Western has gone high style! That show featured plenty of cowboy hats, denim jackets, and inspoired prints, including a Native American-inspired head-dresses and feathered pants, a choice which brought the brand much controversy. Real Cowgirls know better!

As much as they try to pull it off, we at Sierra Western Wear can’t quite picture someone making their turns at the barrel in white leather and feathers. We think Rock & Roll Cowgirls Boyfriend jeans are a better option for lookin’ your best while livin’ your life!

Let us know what you think!
