Cowgirl Meets Showgirl?

Thinking they are Cowgirls at heart, Models on the spring 2014 runways were trying to show they were bold and ballsy in wearing their modern interpretation of Western Wear. Attempting to merge classic American Western with pin-up style and 90’s grunge, they weren’t too clear on what direction they were heading.

Here at Sierra Western Wear, we’re pretty sure it wasn’t the barn!

While they didn’t just step onto the runway wearing a shimmy of fringe and snakeskin boots, they walked out with their hands clutching low-slung thick leather belts that were supposed to make them look a little more authentic. We do have to wonder, authentic ‘what’?

Beaded fringe and some denim thrown in the mix did give the impression of the West, but it was the New York City version. Most of you Cowgirls know what that means!

Still, it never hurts to add a little high fashion in the mix; and we have our own ideas of how that would look. What are your pics for the new season?

We have a few favorites of our own, but you won’t find them on any high fashion runway. Real Cowgirls and Cowboys are too busy gettin’ the job done to fuss with some of the trends currently being shown. But smart Adiktd Denim with strong seams and a little bling paired with an Aztec print  top will take you to the best steakhouse around!

Come on in to Sierra Western Wear and see what’s on the western fashion menu this season. Keep up with us on Facebook and Google+ or check us out online at www.sierrawesternwear.com.

Dress Like a Real Cowboy

With all the Hoopla over high fashion ‘experts’ rolling out their Western Inspired collections, it’s easy to see how they kinda drifted away from the real swagger of an authentic Cowboy or Cowgirl.

At Sierra Western Wear we want you to know you can find all the necessary authentic fashion to make your day in the saddle comfortable, but just as good looking as anything we saw on the runway. Actually, better, as far as we’re concerned!

You want your pants to be the right length for competition and the right fit for twisting,  turning and riding hard. Your boots have to hold up under something a little tougher than a walk up Broadway or a ride on the subway. While these ‘City Folk’ are trying to get the look, real Cowboys just live it.

At Sierra Western Wear, we are right there with you!

Contrary to what the fashionista’s are advising, it takes more than any old pair of blue jeans and a black cowboy hat. And I don’t know many cowboys who are too concerned if their shirt sees an iron before they jump in the saddle; as long as the sleeves aren’t too short, the colors aren’t too bright, and the snaps are working tight. Like our RU Cowboy shirts.

While a few might be concerned if their boots and hat are the same color, the only Bolo ties we’re gonna see is at the fancy two-step dance on Saturday night after the last rider has tried for his 8 seconds in the spotlight.

So if your hankerin’ for a new pair of jeans and you want a decent choice of a few good lookin’ plaid or solid shirts to go with them, check out our online store at www.sierrawesternwear.com, or come see us in historic downtown Placerville.

Sierra Western Wear will help you pull together that ‘iconic’ look you’ve been wearin’ your whole life!

Do you care if your boots and hat match?
